MY PROMISE TO YOU
I'm Melissa! I'm the owner of On Command Dog Training. I have been working with dogs since 2016. I started training at a dog resort in Sacramento where I learned the basics of dog behavior. I then decided to take on my own business to continue to help enrich the lives of dogs and their owners. My goal is to help you communicate and have the best relationship possible with your dog. I train everything from basic obedience, off leash advanced obedience, to behavior modification. I work with all ages, and any breed! As a trainer my job is to not only teach the dog, but to teach you as well. You will learn how to properly handle your dog in all situations, both in the home and out!​

I started first in customer service where I learned the true value of connecting with people and providing them with excellent service. I know the value that true good customer service holds. I pride myself in being not only a dog person, but a people person too! My goal is to make you, as my client, feel comfortable and confident. I will work on coaching you in a positive and exciting way, that will leave you feeling encouraged about dog training! I will run through all exercises until you are fully confident, and will explain everything in multiple ways to help you fully understand everything about your dogs behavior. When you start training with me, we become a lifeline for you. You will have access to my personal phone number where you can call, or text with any questions in between training sessions! You will get hands on application, and homework that works with YOU and YOUR busy schedule.

I am a Balanced Trainer. What that means is I use a combination of both positive reinforcement, and corrections at the appropriate time(s) to communicate with your dog. I use positive reinforcement (most of the time done with treats, toys, or affection) and layer in the use of physical leash pressure when needed to help communicate to the dog right versus wrong. This allows for clear, and easy expectations for our dogs to continue to grow and fully understand in a way that is not stressful, or harmful.

(8 WEEK COURSE)

This package is an 8 week program to accomplish all basic and advanced obedience behaviors. Your dog will be off-leash trained, and will be able to do all taught commands in public settings.
-All training tools will be included including a $200 E-Collar
-Includes training support via my cell in between sessions

SINGLE BARFIELD PARK
PRIVATE TRAINING SESSION
$125
This session will include meeting at Barfield Park in Murfreesboro. I will work hands on with you and your dog for 45 minutes to an hour. We will target and work on your most important goals.
SINGLE IN HOME
PRIVATE SESSION
$175
This session will include meeting at your home, or location of your choice. I will work hands on with you and your dog for 45 minutes to an hour. We will target and work on your most important goals.

CANCELLATION POLICY
All scheduled private sessions must be cancelled or rescheduled 48 hours prior to the scheduled private session time in order to not have to pay a cancellation/rescheduling fee of $30.

Cancellations/Rescheduled Sessions received less than 48 hours prior to scheduled appointment time will be subject to the $30 rescheduling fee.
​
Cancellations/Rescheduled Sessions received less than 24 hours prior to scheduled appointment time will be held responsible for full amount of the going rate for a private session.

Melissa is absolutely wonderful!! We are first time dog owners and needed help with training our 3 month old German Shepherd. When I called her we set up our first session and she helped over the phone with some training tips before we even met. She has helped us solve demand barking, difficult walks, potty training, socializing, and so much more. Anytime I have a question she is always willing to talk or text about it. One of my favorite things about her training is that she is focused on what works best for Dakota and us. She is willing to try different techniques, not just this is the way I train and that is the only way to do something. Lastly and probably the most important thing is that Dakota absolutely loves her!!

I hesitate to write this review because I'm selfish. But, credit earned is credit deserved and On Command definitely deserves it! Melissa does an outstanding job training both the dog and the owners. We started using her because we really had no solid foundation on how to train our golden retriever. She showed up at our home and we instantly loved her and so did Zinnia our puppy. We elected to board/train her while we left for vacation and she exceeded all our expectations. Zinnia is a fantastic dog and we have plenty of information and tools to continue working with her on our own, but Melissa will continue being our trainer on more advanced skills (service dog) and we feel like we have made a new friend also. So PLEASE, do not hesitate to call her but make sure to leave us some time too!
